Stick #93: A Dead End (Very Unfavorable)
看似死路一条径,转角或有小门庭。换思路换方向走,死路也能变通途。
Plain reading
The road seems utterly closed — yet around the corner a small gate may wait. Change thinking, change direction; even a dead end can become open road.
Interpretation
This is a very unfavorable lot titled "A Dead End." Road seems closed — yet corner may hold small gate. "Change thinking, change direction; dead road becomes open" shows dead end is often limit of thought — change and pass.
Advice
Ask "if this road must die, what roads remain?" — write ten, even absurd ones; try one. Dead roads often mean unchanged thinking.
From the Records of the Grand Historian: Han Xin's battle with back to water — seeming dead road, changed thinking, final victory — dead road may open.
